Sedans from Tampa International Airport to Ybor City start at a written flat rate. SUVs start at $160. This rate covers a direct point-to-point transfer in a standard black vehicle. Tolls and fuel are included. Terminal meet-and-greet, parking, and wait beyond the included grace period are extra. Gratuity is not included unless your corporate account includes it.
What roads do we use and how long is the drive?
The distance is roughly 10 to 12 miles. Most affiliates take George Bean Parkway and Spruce Street to Interstate 275 south. They connect to Interstate 4 east and exit at 21st Street or 22nd Street into Ybor. Another option is the Selmon Expressway, State Road 618, to the Ybor City exit. Drive time is normally 25 to 40 minutes. Late-night arrivals can be closer to 20 minutes.
What is the traffic reality and when should you add buffer?
Rush-hour traffic on I-275 and I-4 is heavy from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The I-4 and I-275 interchange often slows without warning. Friday and Saturday nights in Ybor bring nightlife traffic on 7th Avenue and 15th Street. Ybor City was founded in 1885 by Vicente Martinez-Ybor. Its 7th Avenue is a National Historic Landmark District. The Columbia Restaurant, Florida's oldest restaurant, opened on 7th Avenue in 1905. Add 20 to 30 minutes on weekend evenings and during Gasparilla-related events.
What vehicles are used?
Black sedans are usually Lincoln Continental or similar full-size models. SUVs are typically Chevrolet Suburbans or Cadillac Escalades depending on affiliate availability. Sedans fit up to three passengers with two large bags. SUVs seat six or seven and handle more luggage. We do not own vehicles in Tampa. Our dispatch team is a Tampa-focused service that coordinates every ride through vetted local affiliate operators. The exact make and model can vary.
What should you know before booking?
Ybor has narrow brick streets and limited loading zones. Street closures happen for events such as Guavaween and Gasparilla festivities. The Selmon Expressway uses reversible lanes that change direction by time of day. Chauffeurs usually stage on a nearby corner and call when they arrive. Providing the restaurant, club, or hotel name helps the driver find the closest legal pickup.
