What roads do we use and how long is the drive?

The distance is about 60 to 65 miles. Most affiliates take Interstate 75 south. From Downtown Tampa, they connect via I-275 to I-75 or use the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway. For downtown Sarasota, drivers exit at Fruitville Road, Exit 210. For Siesta Key or Lido Beach, they may use Clark Road or Bee Ridge Road. Drive time is normally 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 35 minutes.

What is the traffic reality and when should you add buffer?

Interstate 75 can slow where it merges with I-275 near Gibsonton and Riverview. Winter season brings heavier traffic to Sarasota from November through April. The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art sits on a 66-acre campus near Sarasota Bay. The museum includes the Ca' d'Zan mansion and the State Art Museum of Florida. Siesta Beach is known for powdery quartz sand and is regularly ranked among the best beaches in the country. Add 25 to 40 minutes during season, events, or rush hour near the I-75/I-275 merge.

What vehicles are used?

Black sedans are usually Lincoln Continental or similar full-size models. SUVs are typically Chevrolet Suburbans or Cadillac Escalades depending on affiliate availability. Sedans fit up to three passengers with two large bags. SUVs seat six or seven and handle more luggage. We do not own vehicles in Tampa.
